Salary: £38341.00 - £44731.00 Per Annum

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the management, control and/or delivery of agreed projects to meet defined objectives. You will be expected to deliver your scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls.
Take corrective action to resolve problems, identify and report developing risks and issues.
Oversee the production of regular, up to date and accurate project reporting.
Review complex information across a wide range of projects and disseminate in the form of understandable reports setting out proposals, plans and recommendations for consideration.
Provide challenge and scrutiny on project performance and using persuasive communication skills influence external parties to deliver against project objectives.
Routinely and rigorously assess assigned projects for their compliance with Project and Programme Management Procedures.
Undertake assigned duties and manage designated projects in accordance with Project Management Procedures and complying with all Standing Orders, financial regulations, relevant legislation and other statutory requirements.
Take responsibility for setting detailed task briefs with key deliverables, monitoring progress and taking appropriate action to ensure performance against defined time, cost and quality criteria.
Manage supplier performance for delivery contracts ensuring appropriate controls are in place to ensure successful contract delivery in accordance with relevant contract management protocols, ensuring all contracts contribute to delivery of programme objectives.
Qualifications, knowledge and skills
Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Professional qualification in project/ programme management.
Experience of leading defined projects/programmes of work within the rail industry.
Sound understanding of project and programme management principles.
Experience of leading defined projects or programmes of work.
Knowledge and experience in the transport industry.
Good communication skills and the ability to build and manage relationships
with stakeholders.
Excellent organisational awareness, with an understanding of the
key influencers.
Experience of matrix management and leading project teams.
Requires proven project management experience across a range of relevant projects, and a relevant professional qualification.
Leads a range of small, and occasionally complex projects.
Assumes developmental responsibility for other project specialists
Ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of political, professional and lay-person audiences.
Proven experience of successful partnership working with a range of third parties.
