Rail Project Manager

Manchester

£50,000 - £55,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance + Private Healthcare

As a Project Manager seeking a new position you will no doubt mindlessly scroll through potentially hundreds of job adverts and not click ‘APPLY’ on any because they either do not suit what you are looking for, or, dare I say it, the advert isn’t ‘inviting’ and doesn’t stand out from the rest.

Well… look no further, here’s an advert you will 100% want to continue reading.

Why? I hear you cry… well I have everything you, as a Project manager, is looking for in an employer. My client values their staff, pays a very good salary + package and has some exciting projects in their pipeline, not to mention the initial project you could be working on as the successful Project Manager!

The Company:

My client has many arms to its already large empire with works and projects operating not only in the UK but across the pond as well!

They have been operating for the best part of 100 years now and have their head office based here in the UK along with other offices based in several big cities throughout England.

They are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Multi-Disciplinary team to work on a mix of Signalling and Telecoms works and numerous level crossing renewals throughout the route you would be assigned to.

The Role:

As the successful Project Manager, you will be the forefront of the Signalling and Telecoms Framework for my client. You will be required to work collaboratively and build ‘partnership’ relations with other professionals including Network Rails programme Manager.

Your role will be based around the leadership of the site teams and building of the projects. So, you will be predominantly office based with the view to be there on site for important elements of the work, site tours, Design reviews and of course on-site staff development exercises.

It will be an expectation that you will help in recruiting and building your own team to ensure only the best Construction Managers, Supervisors and Site Engineers are working on this exciting project.

Just like any Project Manager, you will be required to deal with inspection of all related site paperwork including Risk Assessments, ITP’s and Temporary Works and you will be expected to develop short terms programmes with the client.

Not only will the successful Project Manager be a key part in managing the sub-contractors and labour force but depending on the size of the project you are assigned to, you could end up running multiple projects concurrently, giving you more responsibility to prove you are the right person for this role!

The Ideal Candidate:

My client is looking for a well-polished, professional and well-rounded individual that can hit the ground running and holds the sort of experience that enables them to crack on with the job in hand so it is imperative that you are a person who can put on a happy face and make the client feel like they are in safe hands to ensure repeat business.

Of course, there are some factors that you need to make sure you have covered which will be:

  • An Engineering Qualification: Civils, Mechanical, Electrical etc
  • You MUST have exposure to multidisciplinary rail projects
  • You NEED to be able to assist and lead framework bids

Remuneration:

  • A handsome salary of £50,000 - £55,000pa
  • Car or Car allowance
  • BUPA Private Healthcare
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Monday – Friday working

Application:

Now if you’ve got to the end of this advert and are still thinking: ‘Yes, you were right Carl, that was the best advert I’ve read in a LONG time’ and ‘I could do that – where do I sign up?’ then waste no time in clicking ‘APPLY’ now or, if you would like to chat to me for more information do not hesitate in sending your CV directly to me at carl.watkins@ganymedesoluti
