Project Manager
Location: TfGM Transport for Greater Manchester (Piccadilly Place)
Are you inspired by an opportunity to manage multiple projects and programmes of work ranging in size and value? Would you relish the opportunity to play a key part in implementing transformational change across Greater Manchester, improving transport and travel for residents, businesses and visitors and positively influencing key decisions for the region?
What You’ll Do
As a Project Manager at Transport for Greater Manchester we will support your professional and career development, offering the opportunity to deliver a range of exciting projects at various life cycle phases; from development and scoping through procurement, delivery, handover and closeout.
We are seeking individuals to join our Projects Group Function, where you will be part of a team developing or delivering a range of exciting projects including Metrolink renewals, Metrolink enhancements or schemes as part of HS2. You can find out more about these projects here.
In this role you will deliver projects to time, budget and the required standard, as part of the team but also as an individual using your own initiative. You will influence stakeholders and partners and build positive relationships, demonstrate financial awareness and budget management expertise and will compile concise and often complex reports for audiences that range from the political, the professional and the public. Educated to degree level or with equivalent levels of experience, you will have experience of working on light rail or heavy rail schemes either in design management, or the delivery of on-site works. Whilst the roles are typically full time, for some roles we are able to offer flexibility, and we therefore welcome applications from those seeking part-time or job share opportunities. Whilst all the roles offer flexible working options for a high proportion of the working week, there is an expectation that candidates will participate in person in office-based activities and attend project sites when the need arises.
