Company Information:
My client are a civil engineering contractor specialising in railway engineering.
They are a primary contractor for Network Rail delivering a diverse range of projects from earthworks and embankment stabilisation schemes to major structural projects such as footbridge replacements and bridge refurbishments.
Main Responsibilities
- Management of multiple Arch Co. and related infrastructure contracts to requisite performance criteria
- Liaise with client personnel and represent CML at Client progress meetings as appropriate.
- Requisition of major items of temporary works and permanent works materials, sub-contractors, plant and equipment necessary to achieve the contract delivery as per delegated levels of authority
- Planning, coordination, motivation and effective deployment of allocated Project Managers, Site Managers, Site personnel and resources in accordance with CML Operations Manual
- Prepare and implement site specific management plans to ensure site activities comply with CML Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies
- Prepare and implement site documentation and contract plans to conform, as a minimum, to the client's requirement and specification
- Liaise with the Projects Director / Contracts Manager and Commercial Manager at all stages of the tender and contract works. Analyse, maximise and evaluate contract performance and prepare weekly / monthly progress reports and completion feedback reports as directed
- Monitor cost against budget, identify progress of works against programme. Keep weekly records. Liaise with Project Manager and Commercial teams to enable financial recovery
- Provide technical support and practical advice to Project Managers and Site Management teams for the competent execution of the contract works
- Work closely with the project team(s), ensuring understanding of drawings and technical specifications
- Liaise with commercial team for allocation & production of tender documents and submissions
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Must have experience in buildings construction and rail.
- They must also be experienced in working on multiple small reactive schemes
- Be a great communicator being able to manage a demanding client whilst developing the reactive team working for them.
