The Role and Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rail Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team in a client-side role. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing rail infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, considering all aspects of rail infrastructure development, including tracks, stations, and associated facilities.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, government authorities, engineering teams, and contractors, to ensure effective communication and alignment of project goals.
  • Monitor project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the project lifecycle and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that the rail infrastructure meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Monitor project timelines and milestones, proactively addressing any delays and implementing strategies to keep the project on schedule.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to clients, highlighting project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Oversee contracts with external vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that all rail infrastructure projects adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the project management framework.

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
  • Achieved or working towards a recognised Project Management Qualification

Desirable

  • Business development and strategic development experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of GRIP
  • Knowledge of PACE
  • In depth knowledge and experience in rail infrastructure projects

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Educated to degree level within a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
