The Role
We are looking to recruit a Planner to join the TRU East Alliance, one of the most significant rail projects in the North of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join the planning and project teams working across a multitude of workstreams on the Alliance which includes the delivery stages of a multi-disciplinary complex programme of work and the early design of the further phases of the project.
The mission of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the Transpennine Route between Leeds and York, allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North's great cities. Providing passengers with more choice, more seats and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.
Key Accountabilities
Main Key duties will include:
- Producing P6 compliant resource and cost loaded multi-disciplined design, procurement and construction programmes, in line with the TRU Schedule Management Plan
- Liaison with the Alliance Access Lead to ensure co-ordination between the P6 and Strategic Access Box Plan
- Attendance and input into collaborative planning sessions
- Attendance and input into QSRA sessions
- Sign off on Programme Updates and Communicate issues.
- Programme Integration Management.
- Planning and Project Control support to Project Teams
Acting as a key link between Planning and Project Managers, you will be responsible for highlighting issues, providing solutions to problems and reporting on a set of key performance indicators.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate significant experience in a planning role, gained within the rail industry.
In addition, you will also possess the following:
- Measured and well organised approach to your work.
- Analytical and logically minded
- Confident communication skills, both in writing and in internal and external correspondence
- Expertise in using Primavera P6, as well as being a competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.
- The ability to manage work to meet varying deadlines.
