Project Planner
We are currently dealing with a major Engineering contractor who are looking to expand the team in Birmingham by recruiting a Project Planner who will be responsible for planning and programming aspects of the companys projects.

We are currently dealing with a major Engineering contractor who are looking to expand the team in Birmingham by recruiting a Project Planner who will be responsible for planning and programming aspects of the companys projects.
As Project Planner your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing detailed support and assistance to the project to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on critical path and test and charge logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the baseline programme or to mitigate potential delays
- Attend progress meetings with internal and external stakeholder and deliver presentation on project process
- Develop and produce fully logic linked and integrated programmes comprising the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning compliant methodology without assistance
- Manage the planning and programme process by closely monitoring and controlling the development and implementation of the programme and checking completeness of supply chain packages
- Ensure planning and programming is produced on time by understanding the planning process to meet challenging deadlines, understanding the interface and reliance between elements/disciplines, and developing and monitoring integrated design, procurement, construction, and commissioning programmes
- Ensure processes are followed on all projects - producing robust master and managing programmes, following the programme management plan, and understanding supply chain scope
- Input to the risk management process/Develop and produce logistics and phasing plans, identify, communicate, and add key programme risks to the risk register
- Ensure effective communication with the project team
- Produce reports and programme commentary to the Project Team on reporting requirements
- Produce programmes, reports and / or extract filters as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme
- In conjunction with the commercial team, produce earned value analysis data in compliance with the MMA requirements
- Formally issue programme updates to the stakeholder as required by the contract
- As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
Job requirements:
- Through understanding and experience in the use of project management Primavera P3 and P6 software. Extensive experience in programme and project management, project planning, including programme controls, project review, and cost and risk analysis.
- Ability to Plan Construction Works from First Principles, preferably with experience in both planning works in multi discipline Rail Projects and Civils Projects and including design phases.
- Experience of the impact that commercial events and activities have on the baseline programme
- Experience in recognition and recording of any change in requirements
- Experience of activity measuring and monitoring performance and the presentation of the results in a logical manner to support continuous improvement
- Experience in the interpretation of data and information and producing it in a clear and logical format
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality
- Ability to develop friendly and professional stakeholder focused relations with others
- Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts both orally and in written form
- Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills and the ability to convince senior colleagues of the need to develop solutions to the benefit of the business
- Ability to clearly demonstrate high competence in areas of challenging, influencing, and coaching
- The technical knowledge required to be able to review, check, comment on drawings for change, buildability and quality, health and safety, and compliance with contract and legislation.
