Coombes has seen recent significant growth and we are proud to be a Principal Contractor and Framework Contractor to Network Rail. We are looking for a new Project/Scheme Manager to lead on some exciting projects and help us provide a service that is second to none.

About the vacancy:
Coombes requires an experienced Project/Scheme Manager to lead on geotechnical works on the Network Rail Southeast route, on a full time, permanent basis. The successful applicant will manage and be responsible for all aspects of the project and lead and motivate a team to deliver within time and on budget.
As Project/Scheme Manager, you will be required to independently drive routine projects, and non-routine tasks, to include but limited to:
- Embankment stabilisation works
- Soil slopes rock faces
- Construction of retaining walls
- Installation of rock anchors
- Emergency/Reactive works
Building excellent working relationships with our clients, you will ensure that their requirements are accurately interpreted and incorporated into all aspects of the project, whilst adhering to internal and external policies, procedures and standards.
As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company, candidates should have the following:
- Significant recent experience in rail project management
- Significant recent experience in civils and vegetation clearance preferable
- Excellent working knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety standards
- An inspirational leader with a can do attitude
- Effective people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams
- Strong planning, budgeting and organisational skills

Working hours: 40 hours per week, to be worked Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm with 1hr unpaid break each day.
