West Midlands Trains has an exciting opportunity for a Property Project Manager to join the Commercial Team based at our Head Office in Birmingham. This is a fantastic time to join West Midlands Trains (WMT). We operate services in and around the West Midlands, now called West Midlands Railway (WMR) and services from the North West to London, now called London Northwestern Railway (LNR).

WMT is undergoing some exciting changes; therefore, you will need to be able to thrive on large scale challenges, enjoy operating in a diverse stakeholder environment as well as manage complex workstreams.

Property Project Manager Responsibilities:

The role is responsible for managing a range of Station Improvement projects to deliver the strategic aims and objectives that align to the WMT Masterplan. To do this role successfully, the jobholder will need to be able to lead, work independently, communicate a vision and negotiate. The role requires a person who understands development, implementation and delivery through our effective commercial processes, across a programme of projects under Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015. Compliance with the established WMT PMO processes with a priority on safety a requirement.

You will need to have proven skills in Management, Analysis, Decision Making, Stakeholder Management and leadership skills with a strong focus on Delivery.

Property Project Manager Requirements:

  • Experience of working in line with Construction Design Management Regulations 2015
  • NEC3 / NEC4 working knowledge
  • Health and Safety Qualification – IOSH minimum
  • A postgraduate University degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Business or significant operational experience.
  • Obtained or working towards EngTech, IEng, CEng or Equivalent.
  • A PRINCE2 Practitioner/ APM PMQ qualification or equivalent.
  • An influencer, with excellent stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of working within an infrastructure environment.
  • Experience of working with teams with a diversity of skills and knowledge.
  • Competent on the use of IT to undertake report writing and analysis – e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional manner.
  • Attained Level 3 in key areas of the APM Competence Framework
