Rail Chief Project Risk Manager (Capital Works) - Hong Kong
The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is supporting a major Rail operator in Hong Kong is looking for a Chief Project Risk Manager for their Capital Works division working of significant Upgrades and Extensions to the Network.
Opportunity:
This would be a fantastic opportunity to locate the Vibrant city of Hong Kong and join a rapidly growing team working on Capital Works across the network. The Capital Works Business Unit (CWBU) manages the design and construction of the new railway extensions along with a multitude of projects each year to upgrade and improve the operating railway network, 7 currently underway.
This would be an initial 2 year contract however long term options would be preferred.
Responsibilities:
The successful individual shall be working for the end client providing key support as part of a significant international team. Duties shall include:
- Lead a risk management team to review, develop and maintain risk management frameworks and formulate new strategies for new railway projects
- Develop and implement a comprehensive suite of risk management procedures and promote risk management throughout all project delivery stages
- Serve as the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for risk management, cascade good risk management practice and provide advice related to project risk management and mitigation measures
- Provide specialist risk support to stakeholders in risk analysis, workshops and facilitate reviews to ensure that risks are identified, evaluated, mitigated and monitored
- Establish and maintain risk reporting and communication mechanisms for new railway projects and across the Corporation
- Devise and implement staff engagement strategies to raise risk awareness and promote a strong risk management culture
- Establish and adopt audit and compliance processes for implementation of risk management in projects and to ensure the effectiveness of staff engagement and training
Key requirements for the role:
- Degree in Engineering / Risk Management or a related discipline
- A minimum of 15 years' relevant experience in project delivery risk management gained in large-scale multi-disciplinary project implementation environments, of which 6 years should be at managerial level
- Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Sound knowledge of risk management practices in construction projects, with a proven track record in successful risk management implementation
- International exposure and NEC project management are advantages
Language:
English (Regional languages would be beneficial)
Salary/ Package
The salary would be very competitive and based on experience. Taxation in Hong Kong is relatively low and there are number of other benefits provided in addition to the salary.
