The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Project Manager from a Civils background with previous Rail Project experience & knowledge of Japanese Industry Standards of Design to supervise the Construction of a new Metro Rail project in Philippines.

Opportunity

My client is a leading International Consultancy who are working on behalf of the end client supervising the construction of an Japanese (JICA) financed Metro project in the capital Manila.

The successful individual shall be joining an international team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this project, supported by a strong team of engineers across all disciplines.

Job Role / Responsibilities

• Act as a representative on behalf of the Project Director and Railway Civil Project Manager for the responsible package. Support to assure smooth implementation in the construction supervision stage.
• Manage all construction supervision issues for the responsible contract package(s) in terms of time (schedule), quality, budget, quantity, safety, contract, environment, etc., as a representative.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and quarterly progress reports in a form agreed between the end client & financing institution.
• Prepare a construction completion report, which will be a compilation and condensation of the data presented in regular monthly progress reports, together with copies of as-built drawings.
• Attend the periodical site inspection during the defects liability period and order the contractors' actions to be taken and payment methods
• Support Project Manager for smooth implementation of the Project.
• Review detailed design of structural and civil works including embankment, viaduct, bridge, station, depot, crossing structure and drainage.
• Assist the end client in appraising bids as part of the bid evaluation process in civil packages, evaluation of the capacity of contractors.
• Construction supervision of civil works.
• Attend the periodical site inspection during the defects liability period and order the contractors' actions to be taken and payment methods.

Requirements

• Graduate in Civil Engineering or relevant course such as Architecture
• Experience in Railway Related Field: 10 years or more
• Experience as team leader or deputy team leader in construction supervision stage at least 2 railway projects of size > USD 50mil (amount of the related packages).
• Strong knowledge and experience of Metro Construction projects including coordination of systems and architecture
• Excellent communications skills are essential
• Knowledge or Japanese Industry Standards or JICA projects.

Salary Package

The salary on offer likely to be in the region of $11-14,000 per month tax free with additional allowances for accommodation, flights etc.
