A renowned contractor to the UK Rail industry is in need of an experienced and detailed PTS Project Manager to effectively deliver secured and varied packages of Rail related Civils and Building projects within Scotland.

Our client now has the opportunity of creating a new Rail Buildings and Civils division in Scotland and require the right Rail related development bias Project Manager to assist with the setting up of this new division and build an adequate team to effectively deliver the varied packages of work in-line with the programmes.

Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting to and sometimes representing the Business Development and Engineering management team, you the Project Manager for Buildings and Civils will be accountable for the effective planning, design review and associated engineering direction to oversee and ensure the smooth delivery processes safely, with the ability to competently and effectively manage quick change requirements.

The work will consist of some a large scale package of fundamental Rail Building and Civils development works, consisting of varied Civils requirements such as Bridge work, Foundations, Piling Embankments, Culverts, lineside civils, route works, stations and platforms, Earthworks and retaining walls.

In addition, you as the Project Manager for the development of this new division, will be involved with Contract management requirements, producing pricing for project work and contribute to Bids and Tenders.

Requirements:

The successful PTS Project Manager will be very experienced working in a similar position, managing the end to end processes for successful Rail Buildings and Civils deliveries also providing business unit development support, strong client and key stakeholder interface and credible input in to scoping, bids and tenders.

It is envisaged that the successful Project Manager will be degree educated or equivalent within a related engineering bias and would be familiar with the Scottish Rail network, ideally having delivered related projects in the past.

You will be an effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal, experienced in gaining trust and buy-in from clients, local authorities and key stakeholders alike. You will be used to preparing presentations and portraying your findings comprehensively leading to positive business gaining outcomes.
