Project Manager

Based: Basingstoke and sites across Southern England.

Salary: Depending upon experience.

Our client is a leading rail contractor based in the Southern England and continues to expand having secured works for the next few years. Due to this continued success and sustained growth, we are looking for a Project Manager to support our site and management teams. Our client has a strong reputation of delivery and we are looking for the best candidates to further improve our reputation.

As one of the key members of the team, you will play a key role in the delivery of our projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career working on a varied range of projects on and around the rail infrastructure.

The UK rail sector is extremely buoyant with the government having funded major upgrade and renewals programmes worth multi billions of pounds over the next five years on the rail network. Following recent contract awards, we have a vacancy for a site and office-based Project Manager.

This position will provide excellent opportunities for the right candidate. Competitive salary, training and vehicle/fuel card provided. Full training will be given, and we will support your ICE Training.

These are small contracts 0.5-2mil and we will accept applications from strong Site Agents looking to step up to PM.


Main Responsibilities

* To manage infrastructure projects from award through to completion of the works and financial settlement.
* Help develop and grow the project management capability of the company
* Demonstrate ability to deliver competently within agreed budget and time frames
* Manage the preparation of Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans and Method Statements.
* Ensure compliance with client specifications, method statements, industry standards and legislation and identify and enable the resolution of conflict.
* Control of weekly progress against programme and supporting budget.
* Full interface with external clients

Personal Profile

* Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
* Be fully conversant with Microsoft packages and can utilise other project related software
* Have good report writing skills
* Have excellent communication skills
* Ability to digest information and instructions from clients
* Team leader and team player
* High standard of numeracy
* High oral and written communication skills
* Flexible and enthusiastic in approach
* Developing and motivating self and others
* Well organised
* High level of computer literacy including competency in the use of Microsoft Office
* Building excellent customer and client relationships
* Full, Clean UK Driving License
* Willing to travel throughout Southern England
