A well-known international Engineering & Manufacturing client is looking for a Risk Deputy Project Manager to support a new Metro project in the UAE.

Accountabilities
* Use knowledge and experience gained on large programmes of work to ensure effective identification and management of all significant risks (aligned to achievement of objectives) across all work breakdown structure packages within the delivery project team
* Apply a robust and methodical approach to risk management, demonstrating reduction in project exposure to risk through active mitigation of threat and maximisation of opportunities
* Proactively manage the risk and opportunities register and ensure all changes are appropriately captured, controlled and communicated to stakeholders
* Oversee the process to ensure that risks are effectively identified, assessed and quantified, and that risk reduction measures are fully implemented
* Facilitate internal and external risk workshops as required.
* Ensure all opportunities are effectively identified, assessed and quantified, and support the Project Managers and Finance Controllers to ensure that margin enhancement measures are implemented accordingly
* Manage with project finance controller the overall project contingency provision ensuring that it is maintained within the financial requirements.
* Conduct quantified risk analysis for cost and schedule
* Ensure all risk management gateway reviews are embedded in Project Schedules
* Run risk and opportunities management reporting sessions and produce regular Risk and Opportunities status reports for Project teams, Senior Management and external stakeholders as required through the portfolio governance schedule
* Demonstrating reduction in project exposure to change through active mitigation of threats and maximising of opportunities
* Facilitate internal and external change workshops
* Ensure that change management gateway and board reviews are incorporated within delivery programmes, and implemented effectively
* Provide advice, tools and methodologies to support the successful management of change
* Facilitate and chair Programme/Project Change Control Boards and Reviews structuring the decision making and documenting decisions on behalf of the project team
* Produce change management templates/processes to support the project team in delivering their obligations

Required Skills/ Knowledge
* Not Less than 15 years of experience
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* GCC Railway experience is preferable
* Based in UAE is preferable
* Previous experience and a proven track-record of successful risk management in large complex projects is essential, experience gained within the rail, aerospace, oil & gas or other heavy engineering sector.
* Previous experience and a proven track-record of successful change management in large complex projects is essential, experience gained within the rail, aerospace, oil & gas or other heavy engineering sector
* Expert in all aspects of project and business risk management facilitation
* Able to build risk models in a number of applications, which accurately represent the complexities of cost, schedule and business risk
* Able to coach and challenge management and non-specialists and explain the results of risk management exercise
* Expertise in delivering tailored and robust risk management strategies and plans, appropriate to the project/programme complexity
* Experience in collaboratively supporting a project delivery teams to identify and management project risk and changes.
* Experience in the use of computer software products (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
* The ability to work on own initiative, setting clear targets and deliverables

Education/Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree
* Engineer Degree
* PMP Project Management certificate holder is preferable


Languages
* English Proficiency
* Arabic is a plus
