We are looking for a Project Manager with outstanding leadership, communication and project management skills! You will lead Project teams delivering Rolling Stock related overhaul and modification projects to time, cost, quality and safety expectations.
The successful candidate will have a consistent track record of project delivery along with demonstrable experience in leading and developing cross-functional teams.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management, this role is a key part of organisational success, ensuring commitments to customers are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Lead Rolling Stock Projects: Take full ownership of rolling stock projects, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Utilise exceptional communication skills to lead rolling stock projects, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and customers. Engage stakeholders, including senior customer representatives, to provide regular project updates and address concerns promptly.
- Governance Framework Adherence: Ensure that projects are executed in line with the established governance framework for project delivery. Set and enforce project requirements, milestones, and reporting mechanisms to maintain project integrity.
- Strategic Proposals and Business Alignment: Develop detailed and precise proposals that align rolling stock projects with the overall strategic goals of Siemens Mobility. Ensure that project proposals reflect a comprehensive understanding of the business context and objectives.
- Resource Planning and Team Building: Formulate resource plans, collaborating with Heads of Function and Supply Chain/External Suppliers to assemble project teams with the necessary skills and expertise.
- Objective Setting and Monitoring: Define clear objectives for project team members, including those in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering. Monitor their progress to ensure timely achievement of deliverables as per the project plan.
- Robust Requirements Management: Implement a systematic approach to requirements management, claims handling, non-conformance cost management, and lessons learned processes specifically tailored to rolling stock projects.
- Safety and Compliance: Implement and uphold safe systems and controls within projects, aligning with Siemens Mobility's health and safety policies to ensure the well-being of all project stakeholders.
- Comprehensive Project Plans: Develop, update, and maintain detailed project plans that encompass all aspects of rolling stock projects, from procurement and manufacturing to testing and delivery.
- Risk Identification and Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities maintaining an up-to-date risk register. Implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities as they arise
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience managing rolling stock maintenance projects.
- Experience managing design, engineering, and hardware installation projects
- Shown experience in leadership roles
- IMPA Level D/ APM PMQ or equivalent
- Experience using Primavera/MS Project/MS Office
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
