Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts have partnered up with a rolling stock manufacture in the North of England who are looking to recruit for a Project/Operations Manager to head up a prestigious new build trains project along with being exposed to other UK rolling stock projects in a very strong order book.

This is a key role for our client and will be under the spotlight to ensure the successful delivery of this new trains project. As a relatively new manufacturer to the UK, our client wants to ensure that all their current commitments are delivered to the highest quality.

The role holder will need ensure that they develop key relationships with our client’s stakeholders, providing cohesive reports and updates where needed and providing confidence that the project is on track.

Responsibilities

• Engage in daily morning meetings to ascertain daily workload and access requirements.
• Operations Planning / Control.
• Develop and implement access schedules and control measures.
• Support the Product Implementation Manager in all relevant areas to achieve the proposed testing plan.
• Liaise with other Project Mangers to ensure the project milestones are met by effective project planning and plan execution.
• Produce daily / weekly / monthly update reports to the Project Managers and Project Director.
• Ensure safety controls are adhered to and all local procedures / regulations are respected.
• Act as a Stakeholder management representative at scheduled planning meetings, supplier meetings and any other associated project meetings.
• Manage training and competency requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ideally experience of working on rolling stock projects, either for a manufacturer, consultancy or overhaul business in Europe.
• 5 years+ of project management experience, stakeholder management and ideally you will hold a project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or MAPM.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the everyday challenges of project management in the rail sector.
• Be highly organised and be able to manage your time efficiently.
