Key Responsibilities

As our Senior Principal Project Manager you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all elements of the Mass Transit delivery programme and actively lead the development and management of detailed project implementation plans in order to deliver funding, targets and economic and financial evaluation while complying with all relevant legislation and statutory processes. You will coordinate contractor delivery to ensure project work packages are specified to the required standard and are delivered on time, while building, maintaining and developing positive internal and external relationships to assist the delivery of current and future projects. You will undertake effective consultation processes in relation to the project, along with leading and guiding negotiations with external bodies (private and public) to form partnerships, agree commercial deals and secure funding arrangements and/or legal agreements necessary for delivery.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The Senior Principal Project Manager will ideally come from a Transport, Engineering or Construction background. You should have a Civil, Highways or Transportation Engineering, IT or Technology or Project Management based degree or equivalent, with significant experience of developing and submitting large scale transport-related Business Cases to central government to successfully receive capital grant awards. A good knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and its interpretation and application is essential, along with financial and commercial awareness, to enable you to make informed decisions to maximise financial and commercial benefits. You should have proven experience of managing significant multi-year projects and Project Team for schemes in excess of £300m. and experience of managing risk within a project management environment.
