Due to the success and expansion of a number or project wins, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join an award-winning Tier 1 contractor. The Role

As Senior Project Manager you will be deputy to the Project Director. You will be responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of the scheme, with a heavy interface with senior stakeholders and the board. Your day to day responsibilities involve:

  • Creating a ‘Knowingly Safe’ working environment.
  • Ensure CDM is applied and relevant legislation is complied with.
  • Develop, plan, control, coordinate and execute the project exceeding the project parameters by proactively monitoring and assessing performance at project level.
  • Lead, organise, direct, and manage the project team and supporting staff.
  • Identify resource requirements and support requirements whilst liaising with business unit managers.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and environment performance of all operations under your control is managed to the highest standards and that appropriate action is taken whenever operations fail to meet legal or the Company’s health and safety standards.
  • Developing the delivery strategy to meet the project KPI’s.
  • Ensure adherence to the Project Control Framework (PCF), managing stages as required.
  • Ensure project governance is managed professionally.
  • Ensure risks and opportunities are identified, managed, contingency plans put in place and reported.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept and stored in line with the company requirements.
  • Monitor project performance providing reports that effectively communicate the status of progress, performance against budget, key issues, and mitigations, forecasting the future position and quality KPI’s.
  • Ensuring the project is delivered to the BMS processes and procedures and apply best practice and a continuous improvement approach, to ensure efficiency targets are met.
  • Manage, reduce, and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful within the role of Senior Project Manager you must come from a Highways background with experience working on large value projects. Experience must include working on new road construction and/or smart motorway schemes.

You are required to have a minimum of an HNC/HNC/BSc in Civil engineer and experience within a Tier 1 contractor environment is essential.

A Commercial acumen as well a project delivery expertise is beneficial.

Remuneration

  • £70,000 - £75,000 per annum
