Job summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, co-ordination and control of the Superstructure activities, coordinating and managing all members of the Superstructure team, including supply chain in accordance with the Construction Management Plan.
The SPM provides leadership to the team and support the Senior Leadership Team to create and develop the culture and behaviours to meet the Construction Partner Objectives in collaboration with all parties as described in WI 830 (Collaboration).
The Superstructure SPM is responsible for the effective leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors maintaining an uncompromising commitment to safety and a collaborative approach to meet the design and construction programme the incentive target achieve exemplary quality and sustainability standards ensuring the correct resourcing and incentivisation
Key responsibilities
* Responsible for the delivery of Superstructure work packages
* Produce/monitor trade contractor short/medium term programmes and ensure they are delivered in accordance with the target programme for both on and off site works

* Co-ordination of the trade contractors works within the site logistics plan
* Ensure accurate record keeping is maintained for the trade contractor packages
* Ensure the trade contractors have suitable qualified staff on the project
* Review trade contractors' method statements and risk assessments with the construction team
* Responsible to ensure all trade contractors have an approved quality plan, ITP and all inspection/handover sheets in place
* Management/close out of any NCR's raised
* Target zero defects for the handover of each section of work
* Chair and minute trade contractor progress and design meetings
* Review monthly applications and agree payments with Commercial Managers
* Manage the trade contractor RFI process to ensure they are closed out in a timely manner
* Manage client expectations
* Review trade contractor's claims for variations, extensions of time etc and report to the Senior Management team
* Raise early warnings and or draft change requests and agree with Commercial Manager where required
* Arrange production of As-Built drawings, O&M's information and trade contractors' submittals for approval and monitor until they have achieved States "A"
* Agrees trade-contractors Close Out Plans
* Agree snagging procedure and oversee remedial works progress and arrange staged and final inspection
* Provide trade-contract close out performance reports
* Input into final accounts
Qualifications, Certificates and Experience required
* 5 to 7 years' experience as Project Manager for significant construction project.
* Demonstrate significant experience of complex station/transport interchange infrastructure build and employment in senior management roles on projects of similar scope and scale, within the construction industry.
* Proven track record of delivering projects to time and budget, together with an exemplary safety, quality and sustainability record.
* Have demonstrable experience of leadership, building and motivating teams.
* Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation skills organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
* Computer skills
* SMSTS qualification.
* CSCS Card
