SENIOR PROJECT PLANNER (RAIL) - BRISTOL - 6 MONTH CONTRACT - £60/HR INSIDE IR35

ARM are working with a renowned global consultancy, looking to find a Senior Project Planner with Transportation (Rail) experience to join a world-class project controls team working on major infrastructure projects.

About You:

• Highly experienced Project Planner, with a background in rail transportation.
• Detailed understanding of rail transportation technologies e.g. Signalling, P-Way, Structures, E&P and Telecoms.
• Experience programming multi-disciplinary engineering design and a good understanding of engineering activities and how engineering is scheduled.
• Excellent understanding for how projects are designed, procured, constructed and commissioned.
• Expert user of Primavera P6.
• Previous experience of managing Junior planners is desired but not essential
• Experience of various forms of contract, including NEC.
• Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Project Controls Techniques including budget and spend management, change control, Earned Value Management, data analysis, trend analysis and Work Package Management.
• A relevant qualification would be beneficial e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, APM etc.

What you will be doing:

• Have responsibility for all aspects of the Projects programme and Project Controls including completion to time and cost.
• Provide regular supervision to junior members of the team as required.
• Familiar with commercial and financial aspects of project management.
• Building & maintaining client relationships
• Have a good understanding of Transportation technologies and markets.
• Provision of project performance data, project schedules and reports
• Identifying any project deviations and slippages, reporting issues to senior members of the team.
• Deliver the Period Programme Update and information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a period-by-period basis.

This is a full-time contract position, paying up to £62/hr Inside IR35 on a 40-hour week and an initial 6 month duration. This role can be based from Birmingham, London, Manchester or Bristol.
