About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team in the capacity of a Senior Project Planner, for the rail division.
Working in a disciplined manner to the standards set in the schedule management plan, the successful candidate will act as the lead planner on large scale projects from £5 million up to £50 million plus.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following:
- Producing outputs and reports from the resource loading and cost loading of programmes
- Attending project meetings and update the programme.
- Clearly conveying and communicating on programme pressures e.g. critical path and be able to understand and communicate this to the project team.
- Leading the planning process for tender and contract schedules.
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills are an essential as you will manage programme requirements on multiple projects.
- A strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ensuring all contract deliverables are captured in the programme.
- Working to a change control process and managing cost and schedule variances and reporting into the commercial functions.
- Producing of scenario programmes to ascertain best option solutions.
- Building good relationships within the planning team and project team and adding value to the project functions.
- Mentoring planners within the planning team and teaching planning principles from the schedule management plan.
- Assisting and inputting into the company project controls procedures to enhance project and portfolio performance.
- Experience of working within the GRIP process within the Network Rail Infrastructure.
- Being able to produce concise reports demonstrating good literacy.
- Having a proven planning and scheduling thinking approach.

Essential Attributes & Skills
- Proficient in Primavera Project Planning Tool
- Proficient in MS Office Software including MS Project
- A good understanding of Change Control
Desirable Attributes & Skills
- APM Project Management Qualification
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification
- Experience in Rail Industry

Monday to Friday, Office based position.
