Delivering a range of medium to large electrification rail projects throughout the Eastern region, this Senior Project Engineer role is positioned in the market for someone looking to maximise their potential at CEM or CRE level and play a fundamental role in successfully delivering projects across the region.

The Role:

This position as Senior Project engineer is an extremely important role for this organisation and will see you have a great contribution towards successful and efficient project delivery across the Eastern region. Projects will include a variety of systems works such as Signalling and Telecoms and you will be acting as Project engineering manager and undertaking the role of Contractor’s Engineering Manager or Contractor’s Responsible Engineer on either one large project or a series of medium sized projects.

What is expected of you as Senior Project Engineer?

  • You will evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available commercial award for the company.
  • You will support and assist the Project Manager and management team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction, testing and financial targets are met, and effect remedial action where required.
  • You will ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of signalling project work, to ensure safe and successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.
  • Continuously communicate with contractors and customers in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets.

Supplying systems work across the rail industry, this business has made a reputation worldwide and they regularly win major contracts throughout the UK for big clients such as Network rail. This company spend billions on research and development each year, ensuring they are consistently developing new technologies in all business fields to help develop and extend its product range.

Remuneration & Benefits:

The company are offering a generous basic salary of £65,000 - £70,000 per annum, annual performance related bonus, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, and health insurance.

About You:

It is essential that you’re a technically qualified CEM or CRE, with a proven track record working on Signalling and Telecoms rail projects within a main contractor environment. You will have exceptional communications skills, understanding of task, time and people management and will be a natural leader to ensure you are able to drive a team’s performance successfully.

An IRSE Project Engineer licence is essential, and you will also be a member of the IET, IRSE or another recognised professional body. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status would be beneficial, and you must exhibit practical experience of the operation requirements of railway construction works.
