Salary: Competitive

Hours of Work: Mon-Fri 37 hours

About the Company:

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Property Project Manager to join their Property Team based in Birmingham. Our client is currently investing £1 billion to improve rail services from London to Liverpool and across the West Midlands. This includes new trains, improved stations and better journeys.

Senior Property Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a team of Property Mangers (internal and external) and to provide leadership and guidance.
  • Responsible for the entire projects in respect to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Responsible for all environmental elements of the project and programme.
  • Responsible for the safety, quality, cost and delivery of the programme of projects and reporting the projects to the programme board.
  • Responsible for agreeing the Project definition and taking responsibility for delivery of the products and the desired outcomes.
  • Responsible for identifying any user requirements and resolving priority conflicts, through the application of project expertise.
  • Able to make decisions regarding project issues based on delegated authorities and risk assessments.
  • Ability to identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Ensuring the programme and/or project has the correct resources. This includes both in house and external resource.
  • Authorised to approve transactions within the agreed budget and delegated authority limits.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of the project as defined in the project safety plan and West Midlands Trains standards.
  • Authorised to accept hand back of schemes on behalf of West Midlands Trains from 3rd parties including Network Rail.
  • Supporting the Asset Management System operation to achieve its intended outcomes
  • Directing and supporting staff and contractors to contribute to effectiveness of AMS continual improvement

Senior Property Project Manager Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Project Management role
  • Demonstrable track record in successful delivery of infrastructure and M&E enhancements and renewals
  • Ability to work creatively within a framework in order to provide high quality outcomes whilst understanding the wider objectives
  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 / APM or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge of the rail industry and network rail infrastructure
  • Health and Safety Qualification – IOSH minimum, NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Level 7 or above management/leadership qualification or equivalent, Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience within a construction/mechanical/electrical discipline (Advantage)
  • Knowledge of process improvement, lean practices such as 6 sigma / Kaizen (Advantage)
