Senior Telecoms Project Engineer in Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
Purpose
This person will lead and manage an S&T engineering team for my client on the Transpire Alliance. They would be expected to have typically 10 years (minimum) experience of working in a track renewals or maintenance environment, but knowledge, qualifications and ability will be taken in to account.
Responsibilities
To lead and manage all S&T engineering activities for their team
To co-operate with the other engineering teams and disciplines
To plan and implement S&T engineering activities
To monitor and improve / develop engineering competence of the team - specific to S&T
To plan and undertake briefings on engineering issues - specific to S&T
To assist the PEM with engineering initiatives
To assist the Competence Manager with engineering competence assessments - specific to S&T
To undertake CRE duties (subject to nomination and authorisation)
To create all necessary engineering site documentation (programmes, WPP, TB's etc.)
To review all necessary engineering site documentation (programmes, WPP, TB's etc.)
To plan and implement T&I processes - specific to S&T
To lead the team on site and in the office (there will be a requirement to work nights, weekends and holiday periods as necessary, by negotiation).

This post requires an energetic, self-managed individual who can lead a team and has the technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and requirements.

Essential - General S&T engineering knowledge and experience
Essential - Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing S&T works in a wide range of circumstances and environments, including on-track, lineside and stations
Essential - SMTH qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential - IRSE license (Maintenance tester, Eng. Mgr. Installation, etc.)
Essential - Computer literate
Essential - Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail S&T standards
Essential - PTS holder
Essential - Valid UK driving license
Preferred - SWTH qualifications, knowledge and experience
Preferred - CRE experience
Preferred - IOSH managing safely qualification
Preferred - Locally based
