We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy whom are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer or Principal Project Engineer coming from a Civils background to work on Network Rail projects being based in within Reading area. You will be working on some of the UK leading rail infrastructure schemes within an ever-expanding team.  

Within the position you will be responsible for leading, mentoring and acting as the line manage to the Project Engineers and Assistant Project Engineers within the Southern offices.  You will facilitate regular design meetings with all disciplines to review technical progress ensuring that Inter Disciplinary Checks (IDC) are undertaken throughout the project lifecycle and being responsible for ensuring the resolution of all design interface conflicts. On Network Rail projects you will be responsible for acting as the Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) or Design Manager, and lead the technical design delivery of rail civil and infrastructure projects interfacing with other core disciplines, such as track, civils and electrification. 

This is an excellent opportunity and would suit a candidate who comes from a design background experience in integration and Engineering Management/CEM, so potentially a Principal Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer or Design Manger with Engineering Management exposure within Rail. 
  

Job Requirements

• Good knowledge of engineering design standards for the UK Rail Network
• Ideally 5 years experience within the railway industry, the majority of which has been focused on managing the technical delivery of multi-disciplined projects
• Good knowledge of Civil Design principles and with demonstrable Design Management/Engineering Management within Rail
