An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Signalling/Telecoms Project Manager to work on a once-in-a-generation rail upgrade programme to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable rail services across the north of England,
as the successful applicant you will be required you to deliver Project to an authorised budget and within the timeframe.
Specific responsibilities will be as follows
Provide project management support to the Programme Delivery Manager. Responsibility for the project management for all stages of the project lifecycle. Responsible for ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with defined project management and control procedures. Responsible for the ongoing implementation of appropriate project and contract control mechanisms and for their monitoring and reporting
Responsible for the delivery plan and Section Target Price for their specific discipline
Responsible for provide a delivery plan that aligns with the iRRD for their specific discipline
Accountable for performance managing the relevant ECI delivery suppliers that align with their discipline including obtaining their Target Price proposal
It is envisaged that the successful applicant will possess the required skills, knowledge and experience:
An Engineering, Construction or Project Management degree.
Member of a Project Management professional body.
Minimum of 10 years experience as a project manager on a similar sized engineering project.
Demonstrable ability to produce and manage budgets of similar complexity for multimillion pound capital projects.
Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Relevant general management and project management experience.
Experience and knowledge of contract management.
Experience of working in a railway environment.
Understanding of Project Management Procedures.
Knowledge of the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.
Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team including; Signalling, Electrical, Telecoms and associated ancillary Civils.
Ability to produce tender documentation.
Experience and knowledge of technical approvals processes for Signalling.
Experience and understanding of Safety Management Systems, CSM and PDSW
