Vegetation Project Manager

  • South of England - £350 Per Day
  • 6 month Contract
  • Vegetation Management Experience Essential

Manage all stages of the project processes to ensure that all work undertaken is compliant with all Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation and Best Practices, and in accordance with all company standards. To develop positive relationships with all parties associated with the project and ensure that it is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality whilst ensuring that client expectations regarding quality, programme and budget are wherever possible exceeded.

Job details

  • Overall management of the project including compliance with duties of Principal Contractor.
  • To ensure a fair and reasonable financial return on the company’s investment.
  • Establish the project team and ensure team members discharge their duties and responsibilities effectively.
  • To motivate the team to deliver the project in accordance with Contract KPI’s.
  • Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) when needed.
  • Ultimate responsibility for environmental, health and safety matters including promotion of and ensuring that Behavioural based Safety practices are used on sites
  • Implementation of the Project Management Plans.
  • Report to and advise the client’s representative on progress, health and safety matters etc.
  • Arranging regular review meetings with the client, staff and contractors.
  • Will ensure that Safe Work Planning (SWP) activities are assigned to competent Safe Work Planners.
  • Nominating who will undertake the Safety Critical roles in a plan.
  • Make sure Permits are verified at least 7 days prior to the work being undertaken.

  • Strong understanding of rail infrastructure.
  • Strong managerial skills with regards to planning and resource management
  • Results driven and delivery focused.
  • Competent with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Highly effective motivator with strong written and spoken communication skills and capable of interfacing at all levels in the organisation.
  • An ability to handle short term pressures arising from short term deadlines to achieve labour targets.
  • Good decision making and problem solving abilities.
  • Pre-qualification E Learning Assessment.
  • Has regular lead teams on the operational railway either blocked or open lines.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Excellent IT skills.
  • HNC/HND or above in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • PTS Competent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing arboriculture projects.

3-5 years of staff management experience
