Works Delivery Manager - buildings projects Rail
Works Delivery Manager will be responsible for the management of multiple Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts to requisite performance criteria, including planned and reactive works.
Experience in Civil Engineering construction projects will be essential to meet the demands of this multi-disciplinary contract. The ideal candidates will have a strong track record of management of multiple contracts from small to medium value works.
Working on a 5-year framework contract on LNE for clients Network Rail, projects will include a wide variety of maintenance design and build schemes including buildings, platforms and general civils disciplines.
You will be proficient in the requisition of major items of temporary works and permanent works materials, sub-contractors, plant and equipment necessary to achieve the contract delivery as per delegated levels of authority. Reporting to the Framework Manager, the role will involve working on projects throughout the LNE Region, reporting into the Sheffield depot.
- Planning, organisation, motivation & deployment of allocated site personnel and resources within programme
- Control of temporary & permanent works materials & equipment
- Ensure pre-site visits have been undertaken & works have been approved by the client
- Promote & implement site specific management plans & activity in line with company policies
- Requests / produces safe system of works where necessary
- Prepare site works package plans & contract plans to achieve the client’s requirements and specification. Submit any possession, isolation & traffic management requests where required
- Maintain the client’s database ensuring all data is updated regularly
- Liaise with third parties to gain consents (i.e., Environment Agency, Local Authorities, etc)
- Raise design requests & submit to the design coordinator
- Provide guidance and advice to site personnel for the competent execution of contract works
- Liaise with Contract Manager & Commercial team regarding any estimates or technical queries
- Undertake a review of proposed works arising from any design works with Contract Manager & Commercial
- Liaise with the Contract Manager at all stages of works. Analyse and report contract progress and advise of any changes to the intended work scope
- Administration / completion of site paperwork and submit to head office
- Review completed works with the Site Supervisor to ensure it is satisfactory & project documentation present
- Liaise with client personnel on a day-to-day basis
- Identify training needs & development potential of allocated personnel
- Undertake site visits with other contracts / sub-contractors where necessary
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Civil Engineering Construction Project work (at least 7 years) – Essential
- General buildings knowledge
- Management of multiple work sites – Essential
- Proven management of a Framework
- Excellent people management skills
- Understanding of design drawings
- Working within a railway environment
- Commercial awareness of cost monitoring and cost value reconciliation
- A background of working on this or similar contracts
- Strong Knowledge of H&S regs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Suitably qualified by experience
- Degree Qualified – Desirable
- NVQ in Building related trade
- Railway Safety Training (PTS) – Essential
- SMSTS
- IOSH
- ILM L5 / L7 – Desirable
