Assurance Engineer - Inside IR35 in North and Midlands, United Kingdom
Contract Term: 6 months (possibility of extension)
Contracting Authority: Network Rail
Location: 1 in Birmingham and 1 in Manchester (mixture of home based, office and site based)

As an Assurance Engineer, your main responsibilities would be:
- Leading the implementation of new processes and systems to achieve consistent application.
- Undertaking assurance activities (audit, review and end product checks) to verify compliance with the defined systems, processes and assurance framework.
- Undertaking detailed sampling of deliverables to verify compliance with Network Rail company standards, technical specifications and the requirements of the quality management system.
- Managing compliance with requirements for work definition, specification and design including the identification of non-compliances.
- Analysing information to identify problem areas for management action.
- Identifying and reporting to Senior Assurance Engineer any resource or competency issues that need to be managed (by others) to improve the levels of compliance.
- Leading and supporting the implementation of improvement plans and other initiatives including the promotion of good practice.
- Coaching and mentoring others on the application of processes, systems, assurance and the quality requirements for the end product.
- Supporting the accurate and timely reporting of information that supports Key performance indicators.
You’ll have:
- Previous experience in the rail industry
- Working knowledge of 019 standard
- Strong experience managing assurance and compliance activities
- HSQE knowledge
- Strong PC literacy, specifically Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to influence and coach others
