Electrical and Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an E & M Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure our asset condition is maintained to a high standard through the management of Quality Management System requirements in line with ISO9001, ISO55001 and Franchise Agreement requirements. The post holder will be expected to conduct regular supplier audits, planned general inspections and post service inspections of suppliers to ensure both quality and safety are being maintained to a high standard.

Key Accountabilities

• Work closely with the E&M Manager and E&M Contracts Manager to deliver maintenance activities.
• Support the Contracts Manager in the management of all PM, EM, and CM works within the Metro Asset Management System.
• Undertake supplier assurance audits ensuring compliance with KADs contractual and industry accreditation requirements.
• Conduct internal and external quality and process audits and manage the nonconformance and corrective action process.
• Management of KADs Quality Notification database, working collaboratively with suppliers to close quality notifications and implement continuous improvements.
• Manage the Warranty process including Claim’s investigation process and the Customer Complaints process.
• Support periodic supplier meetings and lead the quality and health and safety agenda items.
• Management of internal audits as required to drive quality and reliability improvements.
• Provide metrics for inclusion in Management Reports.
• Management of the auditing plan for internal activities and different suppliers.
• Management of the closure of any corrective actions identified by any external audits.
• Flexibility to work 25% of role during Engineering hours (Nights).

Skills/Experience Essential/Desirable

Essential:

• Significant relevant engineering experience and qualifications for one or more of the following disciplines;
o Electrical Engineering
o Electrical test and inspection
o Mechanical Engineering
o Heating ventilation Air conditioning
o Fire prevention
o L8 Water treatment
• Asset technical knowledge of the Electrical and Mechanical departments assets is essential (minimum of 5 years’ experience working with E&M assets).
• Engineering Degree or NVQ Level 4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Membership of relevant engineering institution, either Incorporated Engineer or working toward professional registration.
• IOSH Managing Safely Certified
• Driving licence essential.
• Knowledge & experience of managing safety is essential.

Desirable

• Good, relevant railway engineering experience.
• Quality assurance auditing experience.
• Knowledge of Metro Asset Management System or similar.
