In addition to maintaining the existing network the Government has recently commenced a major program of rail projects named METRONET with the aim of updating & extending the Perth metropolitan rail network and is looking for experienced rail engineers across a number of disciplines to help deliver these exciting phases of work
We are looking to hear from an experienced Engineering Assurance Manager interested in emigrating to Australia, in this role you will be the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) technical lead responsible for management and oversight of the assurance and certification processes for all Systems Engineering aspects of project works during operational handover. This includes RAMS, configuration management, requirements management and technical interface management. Additionally you will be critical in ensuring the planning, design, testing and commissioning of PTA infrastructure is compliant in meeting operational reliability.
The role is in the Major Projects Unit (MPU) of the PTA. The MPU has a large portfolio of projects to expand the urban passenger railway in the Perth Metropolitan Region and immediate environs.There are a large number of projects including new railway lines, extensions to existing lines, new stations and the removal of a number of existing road/rail level crossings.There is a portfolio of work for the next 5 years with possibility of future works in the METRONET program, stage one of which consists of approximately 72 kilometres of new passenger rail and up to 18 new stations, METRONET is a catalyst to turn over 5,000 hectares of land around new stations to desirable places for investment in housing, jobs and services for growing communities.
To be suitable for the role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering
- Substantial experience at all stages in the verification and validation, testing and commissioning of railway systems to verify and validate requirements (FAT, FIT, SAT, SIT, etc.)
- Demonstrated management skills including resource, people and project management, converting strategies into operational plans, and achieving operational outcomes.
