To be suitable for the position you must have

• Extensive experience in a senior Quality Management role, managing a team of quality management and assurance resources
• Expert knowledge of the application and development of processes to international management system standards
• Experience in the design and implementation of management systems certified to ISO9001/ISO20001/ISO55001
• Industry specific experience in capital work and/or maintenance service delivery in the highways or rail environments and have working knowledge of industry specific standards
• ISO9001 Lead Auditor skills and formal training
• Track record in delivering improvement programmes
• Experienced practical use of Microsoft Office applications and Document Management Systems
• A strong and proven ability to work under pressure

Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have;

• Relevant recognised memberships (e.g. CQI)
• Enterprise Risk Management training
• ISO 55001 Lead Auditor training
• ITIL and ISO20000-1 Lead Auditor training
• Educated to degree level in a related subject (e.g. Engineering)
• Lead Auditor skills and formal training

Role Information

• As a member of the Business Unit senior management team you will be responsible for;
• The provision of effective QS&A services to the business unit, including competent Quality and Assurance advice as required by the relevant industries and delivery of responsibilities as defined by the company management system and business unit specific procedures.
• Developing, implementing and overseeing the business unit's quality and assurance management programs and processes to ensure that all Business Unit facilities and practices are compliant with legislation and industry and client standards
• Ensures the implementation and maintenance of the company Quality Management system relevant to the Business Unit operations including any Business Unit specific procedures and processes
• Establishes suitable risk-based assurance programmes to ensure compliance with procedures, Client requirements, and Industry standards and regulations.
• Maintenance of all client specific assurance case and licences (e.g. HS1 CAC, RISQS etc.) and provide specialist advice and support during third party audits
• Ensure the effective assurance of Business Unit supply chain in liaison with Project Management and Procurement and through the definition of standards required for approval and retention of key suppliers and sub-contractors in collaboration with the Head of EHS for Transport
• Enable the development of a continual improvement culture and implementation and adoption of effective continual improvement techniques and tools whilst supporting the adoption of a telent-wide approach to continual improvement in liaison and collaboration with the QEHS Systems Manager
• Provide all necessary performance metrics in line with the business rhythm to support effective leadership action and decision making and organise and chair the Business Unit reviews of QEHS objectives and targets in liaison with the Head of EHS for Transport
• Lead, direct and mentor assigned resources in order that competent advice and support is provided as required by UK law, Industry and Client standards.
• Liaise and Collaborate with the Central QEHS services to ensure effective coordination across the company management system arrangements (e.g. leading and delivering the Management System Review for the Business Unit).
