Job title: Quality Assurance Engineer (Rail/Rolling Stock Upgrade Project)
Job location: Bexley
Salary: Circa £35.00Ltd
Shifts: Straight Days M-F; 9am-5pm
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Start date: Mid July
Duration: Up to 9 months

Position Summary:
You will be supporting the install of GSMR radio upgrades across a fleet of operational trains. You will take overall responsibility for all quality requirements within this project - this will include managing supplier quality & internal quality processes and documentation.
Key responsibilities
*Managing supplier quality & parts acceptance
*Testing new kit
*Managing QA documentation for all project stages
*Investigating any quality issues that arise
*Continual Improvements of processes to reduce quality issues
Qualifications:
* Minimum of level 3 in any engineering discipline; however ideally HNC or degree qualified
* Working knowledge of electrical or electronic components
* Experience of QA processes and documentation within a production or projects environment
* Strong PC skills and experience of packages such as Maximo and SAP
* Ideally competent to undertake safety critical work; beneficial if you have competency to carry out electrical test work
* Appreciation of hardware & software integration
* Computer literate and will ideally have experience of using a computerised management system for work recording
Skills and Attributes:
* Exercise considerable initiative / judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals
* Work independently
* Ability to coach, counsel and lead a team of people
* Ability to communicate with clarity, both verbally and in written form
* Excellent organisation skills
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
* Ability to plan, analyse and challenge
* Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
* Able to identify root cause of any quality defects
* Practical hands-on approach to problem solving
