Quality Assurance Engineer in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing team based from the ADComms head office in Scunthorpe to support our Assurance team. Due to company growth and project wins across the business, we're expanding our assurance department.

As the Quality Assurance Engineer at ADComms, you will:
  • Assist in all aspects of quality within Projects and the business. To support the Company Quality Manager to maintain and monitor ISO9001 and RISQS requirements and any other mandatory client requirements relating to Quality.
  • Assist in the production, implementation, and maintenance of project Quality Plans.
  • Act as a Business Representative for quality within internal and external project communities.
  • Produce and report set Quality Key Performance Indicators as per project requirements.
  • Promote quality throughout the project community through briefings, training and auditing compliance to all project-related procedures and work instructions.
  • Develop new processes and procedures where gaps are identified.
  • Hold/assist in Quality Forums within the DTUP project community.

Responsibilites:

To support, produce and maintain:

  • Project System Procedures and work instructions,
  • Project Quality Objective programs (data collection and performance metrics),
  • Project Internal Audit Schedule for quality,
  • Project Corrective Action reports – including investigations, reporting, toolbox talks etc.,
  • Project-related RISQS Product Codes and Activities,
  • Applicable client standards,
  • Applicable British standards,
  • Applicable internal standards,
  • Quality and Design Management

Conduct internal quality audits as per audit schedule.

Produce key audit data as required for internal and external quality reports.

Support the business as required with:

  • Supplier Applications.
  • Supplier Audits.
  • Bid responses.
  • Project plaudits and complaints.
  • Manage the Document Control process for Quality.
  • Workplace Quality Inductions.

Education/Knowledge Level:
  • Excellent know-how in operational processes within Quality providing contributions, which "makes the difference"
  • The ability to evaluate, judge and decide on alternative options, effectively with accountably.
  • Flexible cooperation with management and experts, inside and outside the company, driving team effectiveness and results.
  • Good knowledge and skill on Microsoft word and excel.
  • A right-first-time approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills,
  • Internal Auditor Training – Quality,
  • Excellent analytical skills,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Full current and clean UK car driving licence as travelling the UK and overnight stays will be required,
  • Must be able to work nights when required,
  • Personal Track Safety (experience preferred but training will be provided),
  • Rail and/or Road experience preferred,
  • Strong command of the English language

The right person for the role is required to be flexible to accommodate site audits during the day or night time hours including the weekends, however, the standard working hours will be between 9 am and 5 pm. During covid-19 lockdowns working from home is acceptable but a full-time presence in the ADComms office in Coulsdon will be expected once restrictions are lifted.
