My client is a leading Arboricultural and Forestry Contractor, with well over a decade of experience and expertise in the forestry sector, They also play a key role within the Rail industry, providing a whole manner of off-track solutions, and minor civils works, in partnership with Network Rail and other major contractors.
My Client has seen recent significant growth and currently have some exciting projects underway in woodland management, timber harvesting, rail and civils works across the country. We are seeking skilled and experienced colleagues in a range of disciplines to support our growth and help us provide a service that is second to none.
Key responsibilities for this quality compliance role:
- Play a key role in the Quality and Compliance function, supporting the achievement of strategy, its objectives and operations.
- Support the achievement, maintenance and evaluation of external standards, accreditations, frameworks, etc.
- Assist the Senior Quality & Office Manager in the implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure compliance across all departments, coaching colleagues in their application.
- Ensure consistency and adherence to internal and external standards in processes and practices across the business.
- Maintain a policy and procedure review schedule, updating documentation where required, and obtaining sign-off from the responsible manager.
- Manage and coordinate allocated external audits and assessments.
- Carry out allocated periodic internal audits, reporting findings, key metrics and areas for improvement as appropriate.
- Identify areas for improvement in Quality and Compliance across all departments through internal processes and document reviews, observations, audits, etc.
- Gather, collate and report Quality and Compliance KPI's, metrics, etc, to your manager and other key stakeholders, demonstrating impact and highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
- Control and coordinate compliance of the Quality Management System across the business.
- Ownership of internal Quality and Compliance processes including the job file structure, rail catalogue and file systems, etc.
- Lead, chair and coordinate internal Periodic meetings.
- Proactively liaise with colleagues at all levels across the business to ensure Quality and Compliance is incorporated where appropriate.
- As part of the Bid team, prepare Quality and Compliance elements and responses to external PQQ's, tenders, etc.
- Support and educate colleagues at all levels on Quality and Compliance objectives and the implications on, and benefits to, delivery.
- Deputise for the Senior Quality & Office Manager in their absence.
- Continuously review ways of working to ensure best practices are adopted and to drive a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Proactively keep abreast with changes, developments and best practice in standards, certifications, legislation, etc. in the appropriate industries/areas/sectors, communicating relevant points to your manager.
- Observe and follow all applicable safe methods of working, and health, safety and environmental rules/procedures. Report any incidents or Close Calls immediately to the appropriate person.
- Undertake training as required by your manager or the Company.
- Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.
- Be an ambassador, upholding and reflecting the ethos and values of the Company.
- Work in accordance with clients' Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.
- Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Company.
Experience required for this POS role:
Essential:
- Significant experience of ISO's <phone number removed> .
- Experience of working with controlled systems.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects/audits running simultaneously.
- Process-driven, highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility in your approach to work and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent IT skills and highly competent in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience in report writing and numerical data manipulation.
- A strong and proactive communicator.
- Works collaboratively and builds effective working relationships.
- Presents a professional image with the qualities to act as client ambassador.
- A good understanding and application of health, safety & environment practices.
- Flexibility in your approach to work.
- Full driving license.
