Quality Engineer in Blyth, Northumberland, United Kingdom
My client, an industry leading tier one civil engineering and construction firm are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their Rail division on a temporary contract in the North East of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious rail projects in the North East of England.
Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role, ideally coming from a main contractor background.
The Quality Engineer will:
- Ensure delivery teams progressively collate assurance evidence to certify the works
- Compile and review evidence for compliance against project specifications, drawings and industry standards
- Support the Quality Manager is reviewing Inspection & Test Plans and material approvals
- Interface with the supply chain to promote a right first time approach to works on site and ensure that Quality briefings are delivered regarding MSI standards and expectations for Quality
- Undertake site surveillance's to independently verify works are compliant
- Provide regular feedback to the delivery team Agent and Quality Manager on QA performance for the allocated sites
- Support the Quality Manager in the ongoing implementation of the project Quality Management Plan and integrated management system
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Highways Specification experience or Network Rail experience preferred
- Internal Auditor preferred
- PCQI preferred
- Have a wide understanding of the industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of industry techniques
- Good knowledge of relevant SHEQ requirements
- Be PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
- Pro active, can do attitude
- Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision
- Ability to problem solve and analyse technical issues
- High level of attention to detail
