The East West Rail Alliance is a “pure” alliance consisting of three Non-Owner Participants (NOPs); VolkerRail, Atkins Global, Laing O’Rourke and the Owner Participant (OP), Network Rail.
East West Rail (EWR) Phase 2 programme is in excess of one billion pounds which will provide a strategic route linking key centres of economic activity between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Bedford.
Job Summary
Assisting the Programme Quality Manager in providing management system support to the EWR Project to ensure Alliance and client requirements are met and that national and international standards are complied with. Supporting the Alliance team with implementation of processes and procedures, including carrying out surveillance audits and process audits in order to deliver right first time. It will support the provision, maintenance and continual improvement to give the project the framework to achieve success.
Responsible for:
- Supporting the Programme Quality Manager with updates to the IMS Document Register, Audit Programme, Airsweb actions from audits and quality documentation
- Supporting and advising the Alliance Project Team and Alliance Management Team with requirements to deliver right first time
- Supporting delivery of the Audit Programme by either solo auditing or as part of a team
- Monitor and proactively manage close outs of audit findings
- Providing data for period reporting and Management Review
- Recording and monitoring close out of actions emanating from audits
- Training/coaching on quality related activities
- Support the project teams with development of ITPs and effective control of documented information
- Provide an on-site interface and support to project teams
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following experience/skill set:
Expected:
- A member of the Chartered Quality Institute at Member level or Practitioner level (MCQI or PCQI)
- Qualified Internal or Lead Auditor
- BEng or HNC in Engineering
- Major civil engineering project experience in a quality inspector/advisor/manager capacity with significant technical experience
- Previous experience in a similar role with a split between office and on-site activities
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent knowledge and ability with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently to achieve timescales, etc
- Possess a proactive approach, process driven, with a focus on detail
Preferred:
- Experience of working on Network Rail projects
- Knowledge of BS 1192
Location
Milton Keynes/Bletchley with a requirement to travel to different sites.
Salary
£41,200 - £50,400 per annum dependent upon qualifications, skill set and experience.
