Job Title: Quality Manager
Pay rate: £350 - £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester or Leeds
Duration: 12 months +
Summary of the Quality Manager:
My client is currently looking for a Quality Manager to join their team on a major rail project based in either Manchester or Leeds, on a long term contract basis.
Responsibilities for the Quality Manager:
- Develop and provide quality training for all personnel to include induction and training for staff with specific quality responsibilities
- Manage all quality personnel
- Review potential subcontractors and suppliers for their capability to meet quality requirements
- Assist in the review of sub-contractors' and suppliers’ quality plans and procedures
- Oversee the generation of Inspection & Test Plans and their submission for acceptance by the Quality Assurance team
- Establish through the team the progressive compilation of quality records to evidence compliance of assurance and compliance with the contract requirements
- Provide advice and instruction to the project team to deal rapidly and effectively with quality non-conformities and issues
- Report to Senior Management on all quality issues in line with the reporting requirements
- Monitor the quality of the project construction and administration against the management system and promote continuous improvement
Requirements for the Quality Manager:
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage their own time
- Able to encourage and motivate people of all levels
- 10+ year minimum previous experience working in an Engineering/Quality control function - preferred Major Civil Engineering and Rail experience
- Appropriate Civil Engineering related qualification or equivalent experience
- Proficient understanding of QMS, able to recognise the importance of a risk based approach, understanding of hold points and promote quality planning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite – including use of Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and Teams
