An exciting opportunity has become available for an individual with the drive, enthusiasm and ability to undertake the role of Quality and Facilities Manager based in Manchester.
The role demands a conscientious and proactive individual who has a good knowledge of engineering processes.
It will be necessary to build on good relationships with people at all levels both externally and throughout the business.

Experience of plant maintenance would be desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
1 2. PURPOSE OF JOB
Provide facilities management services for the depot and its designated regional outstations, including establishing an effective alliance with Network Rail to ensure the continuous improvement of buildings, plant and equipment facilities.
Ensure the planning, implementation and development of plant maintenance systems is undertaken so that all plant & equipment at the depot and designated outstations are maintained and operate to the correct standards.
Ensure that all aspects of facilities management comply with the requirements of the Engineering Quality system and the Safety and Environmental Management Systems which conform to ISO standards. This includes ownership and development of any local procedures or working instructions required to ensure effective documentation of processes.
2 3. DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
The budget will change year on year but includes:-
3.1 Financial - Direct
Direct payroll
Plant
Facilities
Track maintenance and renewals
In addition there will be specific costs for major renewal and upgrade capex projects
3.2 Financial - Other
Other staff costs (overtime)
Non traction energy usage
3.3 Staff Responsibilities - Direct
Plant and Machinery team
3.4 Staff Responsibilities - Other
Any contractors who attend the region to undertake work other than that of production
3.6 Main Interfaces
The Facilities Manager will have the following main interfaces (but not limited to)
- Depot and Region leadership teams
- Network Rail
- Commercial and Finance teams
- External specialist suppliers of services
- Internal specialists from Quality and Safety & Environment
