Safety Assurance Consultant Advisor in United Arab Emirates
KEY PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to ensure that all railway hazards are identified, and effective controls selected to manage all operational safety risks, arising through the Route 2020 Red Line extension and system upgrade works.
STRUCTURE AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The role sits within Route 2020 Project Team reporting to the Engineering Systems Assurance Manager.
BASED ON THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT OF THE ROLE
Key accountabilities
• To ensure that the safety integrity of the Dubai Metro assets is maintained throughout the changes introduced as a result of the Route 2020 migration, upgrade and extension works.
• To participate (or perhaps to lead – although this is probably driven by the contractor) within the design hazard identification workshops.
• To ensure that impacts upon the existing operational safety case, and Dubai Metro Hazard Log, arising through changes to the metro design, are identified and managed appropriately.
• To coordinate between the Route 2020 design team, and the Dubai Metro organisation, and to comply and support the requirements of the Dubai Metro Asset Configuration Change Management processes.
• To represent the Route 2020 activities within the regular Dubai Metro Change Management meeting structure.
• To represent the Route 2020 activities within the regular Dubai Metro Safety Management meeting structure e.g. Safety Risk Control Working Group
• Ensure that access permits are reviewed by the relevant competent persons, and to undertake a safety review of each access permit application
• To deputise for the Engineering Systems Assurance Manager
Essential technical and professional skills , knowledge and qualifications
• Ensure compliance with the Serco Management System and all relevant business processes, procedures and work instructions to deliver all work with appropriate quality and governance standards
• Ensure security and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Serco non-disclosure policy
• To exercise personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions; reference SMS GSOP-HSE1-6 Serco organisational HSE responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Serco and ensure adherence to these requirements at all times whilst in employment
• Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process
