Tactix-SENER was formed in 2022 following SENER’s 60% acquisition of long-standing Infrastructure advisory company Tactix. Tactix-SENER is one of Australia’s leading engineering consultancies across the development, design, construction and operations of infrastructure assets.

We are looking to establish a hub in the UK that can support expansion into the UK and also potentially support Tactix Sener projects in Australia and our Parent Group’s projects, globally.

About the role

Tactix-Sener is experiencing rapid growth, with a current combined headcount of over 300+. Our Systems and Safety Assurance team numbers approximately 50 people. We are continually on the lookout for suitably qualified individuals to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. • Location Lead, in the UK, accountable for spearheading and providing strategic growth and direction; and for
• Principal and Senior Consultants, based in both the UK and Australia, who will play a significant role in the delivery of key project outcomes on behalf of our clients.

Major Rail projects such as:

• Sydney Metro – A new driverless rail network. Of which, we are involved in:
  • City & Southwest Line
  • Western Sydney Airport Line
  • Sydney Metro West Line
• Melbourne Suburban Rail Loop – a new driverless rail network in the city’s suburbs.
• Melbourne Underground Rail Loop (MURL / City Loop) – upgrade.
• Inland Rail – A major new freight line between Melbourne and Brisbane.
• Etihad Rail, UAE – A new rail line between Abu Dhabi and Dubai
• High Speed 2 (HS2) – A new high speed rail line between London, Birmingham and the North of England.

Major Road Projects such as:

• Western Harbour Tunnel – A major new motorway tunnel under Sydney Harbour.
• Melbourne North-East Link - A major new motorway connecting the outer northeastern suburbs of the city.
• Coffs Harbour Bypass – A new motorway bypass around Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.
• Sydney WestConnex – a large new network of underground motorways criss-crossing under Sydney.

About You

Country Manager

You are an expert in one or more of our core disciplines (System Safety, RAM, Systems Engineering) and have a good understanding of how our other disciplines work (preferably over 15 years experience). You have experience managing multi-disciplinary assurance teams. Coupled with your technical experience, you have a proven track record in developing business opportunities through your industry network (preferably including rail and/or road). This excellent opportunity will allow you to build a multidisciplinary team around you servicing local projects in the UK but also remotely assisting in delivery of projects in Australia where there is a need.

Principal Consultant

You are an expert in one or more of our core disciplines (System Safety, RAM, Systems Engineering) with more than 10 years experience. You are able to deliver technical projects without supervision and are experienced in managing others. You can assist the business unit director in the estimation and tendering of proposals in order to secure work.

Senior Consultant

You are an experienced engineer (more than 5 years) in one or more of our core disciplines (System Safety, RAM, Systems Engineering). You are able to deliver technical projects with minimal supervision.

Depending on your skillset, we would also be looking for demonstrated experience across the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Science or Engineering.
• An excellent technical understanding of the Systems Engineering project lifecycle from development, design, construction, testing and commissioning.
• Experience in the design and delivery of complex and multidiscipline projects;
• A strong technical knowledge relating to safety standards, in particular EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129 (RAM & Safety roles).
• High level of experience in application of risk management techniques.
• Demonstrable experience managing relationships with key stakeholders such as project owners, principal contractors, sub-contractors and/or transport operators.
• Clear communication skills (written and oral) and with the ability to identify issues and influence the outcomes.
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritise.
