Systems Assurance Manager in Perth, Western Australia, Australia
A well known tier 1 contractor is looking for a Systems Assurance Manager to join their busy rail systems and automation division in Perth, Australia.
Role Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Systems Assurance Manager (Wayside, ALX & TLO/CD) is to perform lifecycle safety assurance and CENELEC compliance activities on the general wayside system and specifically level crossing and train load outs / car dumpers integration. Assurance activities will include oversight of safety integrity of BT processes for design, delivery and functional testing of modification of existing legacy assets.
The Safety Engineer will also be required to perform hazard assessments, fault tree and safety analysis to ensure functional, safety.
The Safety Engineer will undertake other duties as directed and promote a positive project delivery and safety culture.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Experience in rail related wayside or signalling applications and performing some assurance activities of those applications including development or safety cases and safety artefacts. The Safety Engineer should ideally be a qualified signalling and/or systems engineer and it is desirable to have experience in specific application safety assurance experience or similar.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in rail systems safety, CENELEC, safety case development is highly desirable. Candidate will ideally have had experience in a similar role.
Suitable candidate will ideally be:
*Degree qualified and have significant experience as a Senior Engineer / Safety Assurance Engineer in railway related system or wayside designs.
*Minimum 15 years' experience in design and implementation of complex greenfield or brownfield rail projects.
*Experience / exposure in machinery and / or rail functional safety.
*Experience in heavy haul rail engineering in iron ore operations.
*Experience in engineering safety management of change, safety case development, type approvals and safety assurance controls.
Key Accountabilities
Delivery Accountability
a.Provide regular reporting to the team leadership.
b.Ensure all safety related safety cases, artefacts and supporting evidence are fit for intended use.
c.Manage the flow of safety related documentation to external and internal stakeholders.
d.Ensuring management of safety case integrity including structure, completeness, compilation and traceability of evidence in support of:
i.SA design, testing, verification, validation to meet contract, CENELEC and BT process, traceability and compliance requirements.
ii.Compliance with System Life Cycle Process (SLCP) principles given by CENELEC EN 50126.
iii.approval and acceptance of RMS according to EN50128 (for software and configuration data) and EN 50129 (for hardware)
iv.RMS and BT products compliance with all applicable standards, procedures and laws
v.Manage handling the Causes, Consequences, Risk Ranking and Safety Requirements defined in the Hazard logs.
vi. SA Safety Case/s.
e.Coordination of safety related deliverables for compilation of traceable evidence chains to support safety related assurance or arguments.
f.Undertake technical safety reviews of contributing safety cases, reports and artefacts.
b.Coordinate delivery of hazard and safety in design activities, assessments and reporting (including supporting workshop facilitation by safety engineers).
c.Function as the Project document owner and maintain currency of the
i.SA Safety Assurance Plan
ii.SA Safety Log
iii.SA Hazard Log
iv.Humana Factors Integration Issues Register and reports (on behalf of subcontractor)
v.SA design/preliminary and finals safety cases
vi.Rail Control Solutions Safety Assessment Centre SA ISA assessment records.
vii.BT approved validation reports.
viii.BT Independent Safety Assessment endorsement of SA safety cases.
ix.safety endorsements and approvals.
Team Accountability
a.Providing technical safety guidance to team members on correct safety related project documentation procedures and standards
b.Supporting team leadership and members in delivery assurance activities and development of safety artefacts.
Support shared workload whilst team members are on leave.
