Technical Assurance Concessions Administrator in London, London, United Kingdom

My client is responsible for the biggest construction project in Europe, helping to improve London's commuter infrastructure.

Due to an increase in project workload they require a Concessions Administrator to hit the ground running and become a vital part of the team for an initial contract duration of 6 months.

The day rate on offer is negotiable and based upon experience.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the following;

  • To manage and co-ordinate all aspects and activities associated with concessions to the project and other applicable Rail Industry Standards to support the Technical Assurance planning for the Project.
  • Agreeing and implementing the process for recording and gaining acceptance of all concessions/derogations against agreed Standards with the relevant industry body
  • Supporting the Chief Engineer, Delivery Teams and contractors to ensure concession/derogation requests are of the appropriate quality to facilitate timely approval in support of the overall programme
  • Supporting the Head of Assurance in day to day team activities and where appropriate, produce concessions/derogations against agreed Standards in the Baseline and gain approval from the relevant body
  • Developing and maintaining a mechanism for recording and tracking concessions/derogations through to acceptance by the Standard owner
  • Developing appropriate reports to communicate the status of concessions to key stakeholders
  • Attend meetings in particular with railway partners and contractors

The Challenge

  • As the Concessions Administrator you will need to develop strong working relationships with the Infrastructure Managers, Delivery Teams and contractors.
  • You will be required to set and maintain a high level of professional performance
  • Ensure that, when a change or derogation from previously determined project standards needs to be considered, the change promoter provides sufficient technical information to enable the decision to be assessed at the appropriate level within the project and, if appropriate, by external certifying bodies
  • Liaise closely with the parties responsible for reviewing and accepting concessions in order to facilitate timely progress of the documents through the various process steps
  • Represent the company to appropriate external parties
  • You will be required to provide advice to the company on concessions and derogation activities, whilst also having the responsibility for escalating issues to the Head of Assurance.

Who we are looking for

As the successful candidate you will have experience in standards / concessions management in the context of major infrastructure projects, suitably within the rail industry.

Knowledge of Technical Assurance actitivies for a major project

A professional qualification in engineering or an associated discipline, and the ability to interface in a professional and competent manner with railway domain specialists, design managers and construction project managers.

Ideally an individual with a professional qualification in an engineering or associated discipline.
