ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Ruislip

Salary: £30-36,000 per annum

Due to growth VGC are looking for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team on a major infrastructure project in the UK. VGC are a great group of businesses focussed on delivering people and projects to the infrastructure market across the UK.

ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help support the projects and the programme with commercial information and advice ensuring compliance with governance
• Work within the commercial team consisting of a Commercial Manager and a QS
• Be responsible for monthly AFP production and submission
• Sub-contractor paperwork administration for given workstream
• Assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments
• Supporting senior members of the team in the day to day management of sub-contractors
• Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required
• Provide support with pre and post contract procurement activities as appropriate

ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Quantity Surveying would be advantageous
• Studying towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Previous experience in a similar role
• A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Self-motivated, detail orientated and very organised, with an aptitude for working with numbers
• Ability to manage workload
