About the role
Here at Babcock International, we’re looking to recruit an Assistant Contract Surveyor to support the Senior & Project surveyors on a day to day basis to ensure that the delivery of all contracts are delivered in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner.
You will ensure that when interacting with both external and internal clients that they promote a professional outlook and are fully conversant with the latest technology and innovative working practices being used within the division.
The position is predominantly office based with a third of time spent on-site taking cognisance of company procedures, NWR technical and safety standards. You must be capable of undertaking small site surveys under supervision.
This is an exciting opportunity working at a large Defence Organisation with potential wider opportunities within Babcock for the right individual.
What do I need to do the role?
You will have a working knowledge of Autocad, and Microstation would be beneficial.
You will have a sound knowledge of the general aspects of topographical surveying, including the use of the latest Total Stations, downloading of raw survey data and importing into data processing packages.
You will also have a good understanding of the GPS system, including receiver operation and data collection with experience processing both Topographical and Point Cloud Surveys.
ONC/HNC qualifications are preferential, or relevant experience in the survey industry with an aspiration to gain formal academic qualification in the survey discipline.
Processing of data including laser screening would also be a useful skill.

There may be a small potential for evening and/or weekend working.
