As Master Supply Partner, PSR Solutions are proud to be working in partnership with the UK arm of this leading international and multidisciplinary infrastructure construction company, specialising in the development and delivery of key infrastructure projects across the globe such as railway construction and systems, roads, tunnelling and fibre optic networks.
Having worked on a number of the UK's most prestigious Major Projects and Alliance Partnerships, they are currently focusing on the funding, design and construction of fibre networks in the UK, and are growing 3 UK regional hubs.
Reporting into the Design Manager, you will work as part of the growing Fibre Design team, supporting the design and delivery team to ensure designs are correct and site/ location architecture is fit for build, updating designs with actuals and recommending design solutions where required.
This is a key role in ensuring that we achieve out delivery dates, to the highest quality and budget. Duties include but not limited to;
Surveying planned hung and buried fibre routes in line with proposed design, verifying the design and validating the "real world" architecture (checking pole locations, chambers accessibility and clearance etc.) matches the proposed design and proposing design solutions from site where this is not the case.
Previous experience building and surveying fibre networks (hung & buried) and knowledge of GIS, Openreach PIA and splicing.
Primary responsibilities will be to survey and validate site architecture against proposed designs and identifying design solutions on site where this is not the case.
Key responsibilities:
- Collecting and auditing design data provided by the design team, making sure that the optimal solutions have been identified against Business specifications allowing a build that meets time, cost per premise and quality requirements.
- Validate PIA infrastructure incorporated into the design identifying both issue and solutions.
- Utilise QField to accurately highlight issues and provide re-designs.
- Work with the Design and Build Teams to create a seamless optimised design.
- Surveying critical assets and infrastructure for the build process ensuring right first-time designs are available to the Build Team.
- Complete electronic tasks using QField during the survey process providing feedback on design performance, produce and maintain reports wherever necessary
- Ongoing monitoring of Project areas throughout the Pre-build life cycle confirming any changes that will affect the Build Process
- Confirm vital infrastructure is in place in suitable locations
- Recording and reporting all deviations from original plan
- Assist the other teams such as Project, Assurance and Design Teams whenever necessary.
Knowledge and experience:
For this position, the ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
Essential:
- Experience with QField
- Minimum of 2 years telecoms & fibre build surveying experience
- Understanding of poling, cable, or civils installations on a fibre network
- Knowledge Openreach networks
- NRSWA qualification
- Full UK Driving License
- Organised and able to adapt quickly to changes
- Communication skills to be able to liaise with different teams, internally and externally
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail
- Adaptable to change with a can do attitude
- Enjoys a fast paced environment
- Enjoys continuous improvement and sharing best practice
- Team player.
Desirable:
- Currently or previously held PIA Qualifications (SA001 & SA002 etc.)
- Experience in building PON's (desirable)
- Knowledge of GIS, Openreach PIA and splicing
