We now have an exciting, long-term opportunity for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of Railway projects differing in size and scope throughout the UK. You will be a key member of the Commercial team and will be involved in many aspects of the Quantity Surveying cyle.

This position is open to permanent staff only.

Candidates who would prefer to be based in the Yorkshire region will also be considered.

Some of the key responsibilities will be:

• Developing effective working relationships with members of the project management team.
• Identification and valuation of variations.
• Measurement of work done and administration of site records.
• Provide support with financial reporting for projects.
• Understand contract requirements and assist with contractual correspondence.
• Understanding of risk and identifying the implications of actions taken by yourself and the project team.

Key skills/experience required:

• Ideally, some experience within a Rail, Construction or Engineering environment
• Ability to analyse drawings and designs.
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
• An understanding of contractual arrangements.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• I.T. skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite (ERP software system also preferable).
• Sound administrative ability.
• A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative;

Qualifications:

• 2:1 honours degree or better in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar.
• Full UK driving license

You will be predominantly working remotely but will be expected to work in our client's office a couple of days per week.
