Quantity Surveyor in Bristol, Bristol, England, United Kingdom
Quantity Surveyor
Bristol
An exciting time to join a thriving rail contractor as they soar to new heights, providing an excellent chance for a budding Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to make their mark in the rail industry!
THE COMPANY
My client is a leading rail maintenance contractor who are part of a wider construction company operating all over the UK in various sectors, with a group turnover just shy of £1billion. Their rail division is a market specialist who have successfully won work on several frameworks across the UK, with a view to continue growing and to get their foot in the door with larger projects.
Due to expansion, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team out of Bristol, working on projects in the Western area!
ABOUT THE JOB
This role comes with plenty of variety as my client specialise in smaller projects which could range from £10k to £2million within a wide geographical area. The work varies from station refurbishments to embankment stabilisations, deck replacements, bridge painting, reactive station maintenance and lineside civils.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a budding AQS/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to jump into the rail industry, with plenty of support provided as they look to continue to grow - the sky is the limit to what you can achieve!
IDEAL CANDIDATE
So, now you know what to expect, I bet you’re wondering what would make you successful in this role? Ideally, you’d already have some experience within the rail industry working on similar schemes e.g. station refurbishments. However, as my client are willing to invest in someone and show them the ropes, if you have alternative civils experience then we still want to hear from you!
Due to the fast-paced environment, framework and minor civils experience would be preferred to keep up with the workload. The projects can vary in timeline from a week to a few months, and will have more than one project live at any time so framework and/or small projects experience is a must.
As they take on more and more projects, it is clear to see the natural progression plan for you. My client is the type of company who invest in their employees, so if this is ticking all the boxes for you, what are you waiting for?
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you will need to have experience either as an AQS ready to step up, or already an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor within construction or civil engineering – ideally rail, but other sectors will also be considered.
You will also need to have a relevant HNC/HND/Degree within a commercial field or civil engineering.
My client is open on experience as it’s all about getting the right person in – so if you think you’re up to the task and can slot into the team swiftly, you could just be what they’re looking for.
PACKAGE
My client is offering a basic salary of up to £40k depending on your experience, plus a company car or car allowance, excellent benefits package and 26 days’ holiday.
