With the successful tendering of a large Rail Engineering projects in the Midlands, our client working in partnership with Caval is looking for a Bid Manager. The position is offered on a permanent basis.
The role will sit within one of the HS2 Joint Ventures which is undertaking the £300million Enabling Works Contract for the whole of the central section of HS2 Phase.
About You
To be suitable for the position you must have; Experience within a Construction/Engineering environment (ideally Highways, Rail or Utilities infrastructure projects)
A HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or other commercially related discipline) - Civil Engineering background preferred
Strong Commercial background - NEC3 form of contract experience although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have previous experience on Major infrastructure schemes would be advantageous.
The Role
- Contribute to achieving commercial results through the provision of accurate financial reporting
- Manage subcontractor supplier accounts - Understand fully the customer's needs and ensure effective relationships are built and maintained
- Provide support to the site team on contract requirements
- Identify, secure and deliver the business forecast in both turnover and margin
- Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract and manage subcontractor accounts ensuring payments are timely and correct and any other commercial issues are resolved
