Quantity Surveyor in Capenhurst, Cheshire, United Kingdom
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Quantity Surveyor reports to the Commercial Manager / Project Manager:
The role of the Quantity Surveyor involves providing commercial support to the Project, reporting commercial information to the Project manager and sharing this information with the UK Head Office. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for all commercial relationships with the client, providers, sub-contractors and suppliers, using supply chain agreements based on the NEC3 forms of contract.
In addition, the Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the project team, responsible for the subcontract procurement, management and cost approval within the contracts.
Reporting into the Project Manager on an operational basis on all financial and contractual matters, they will ensure that the Project Manager has available all necessary financial data in order to aid the decision making process on site.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out financial and contractual administration on assigned contracts, to keep costs, income and cash flow within established targets and to optimise cash flow.
In addition, the Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the project team and be responsible for the subcontract procurement, management and cost approval within the contracts.
MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Allocating & analysing costs as per project requirement
- Procurement, negotiation, and administration of supply chain arrangements
- Approving providers invoices/applications
- Ensure that payments are applied for and received in accordance with the contract
- Track changes within the scope of work and identifying potential commercial / contractual risk
- Remeasuring works, take-off's and pricing change / additional work
- Monitor costs against budget and establish end life forecast
- Production of CVRs, Cashflow, and Commercial/Financial Forecasts
- Report on progress against programme and contract
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and provide advice and guidance to the project team as necessary
- Preparation and agreement of internal and external valuation/final account to ensure recovery of full entitlement in accordance with the contract
- Maintain commercial relationship with the supply chain and the client
CANDIDATES REQUIREMENTS
For this position, the ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
ESSENTIALS:
- Degree qualified in a Commercial or Engineering discipline with relevant Quantity Surveying experience
- SME/Tier 2 experience
- NEC3/4 contract administration experience
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Worked in the construction industry
